Trying to keep it short and sweet, Im currently employed as a support engineer at a telecommunications company pulling in £42k. I got the job straight out of my Masters and have about 1. 5 yoe under my belt with the company. Not too happy with my current role so did a bit of job hunting and potentially have a job offer from Deloitte. The role I applied for was in Risk Assurance. He didn't think I'd like it after hearing about my background so recommends me to the Risk Analytics team which im happy to hear about. The interview goes better than expected and he suggests that I may even be overqualified for the grad role. I'm still waiting for a response but it may be that I have a follow up interview with the Risk Analytics team for a role as experienced hire. Slight problem: I know jack shit about Risk Analytics. Hopefully the interview goes well and they take me on as an experienced hire, I can go through their cram courses to build the necessary hard skills. Trouble is if the inteview doesn't go well they may only offer me the grad position.
