I (m29) run a successful event planning business that I started with my ex wife about 7 years ago. When my ex wife and I divorced, she also divorced the business, and I then employed about 9 people to work for me. We now have offices and we have a tight group of employees who are almost like family to me now. About 6 months ago one of my employees told me she was pregnant, and as a result was going to leave the business to be a full time stay at home mom. I had no issue with this, but it meant I had to find a new employee to take her place. I interviewed a lot of people before finding Olivia, who I went on to employ. Olivia has lots of experience and is absolutely fantastic at her job. The clients love her and she's really in tune with what the clients needs and desires are. The nature of our work is to build a rapport with our clients, which sometimes means social media is added by clients. For my other employees this has never been an issue. They post respectable pictures of their families or travelling, it's never been a cause for concern.

Every three seconds somewhere in the world a baby is born, with an average of over 130 million live births annually. Given that in the United States, nearly half of the workforce is female, it is inevitable that there are bound to be a lot of pregnant job seekers! So what is a woman to do? The current law in the U. S. does not require a pregnant job seeker to disclose this information. Employers cannot legally discriminate against a woman for being pregnant and once an offer is extended, they are also not allowed to rescind that offer based on pregnancy. A pregnant woman has every right to apply for a new job without revealing her situation. While there are ethical and trust issues to consider, let's first look at the why it makes sense to keep your pregnancy to yourself when interviewing: Let's face it. While it is not legal to discriminate, there is still tremendous discrimination against pregnant women. From the perspective of an employer, it is certainly understandable they would not want to knowingly hire someone who is going to be out for several months within a relatively short time period after their start date.

His tears during his confession were not from sadness. He was relieved. He honestly thought they were going to believe him. After all, they said they had seen it happen before. Keep him from having them. But that is a risky idea and doesn't add up. She stood to gain all of the sympathy in the world if he left her. She was already getting attention and sympathy. I do understand how people think SW killed the girls. I did too. But the videos of him gave a context that u don't get from written word.

Olivia, on the other hand, thinks herself as a bit of an amateur underwear model, and posts these pictures on her Instagram in very provocative poses. Usually I wouldn't have an issue with this, but I don't want clients seeing them and immediately looking down on my business. I have Olivia a warning about a month after she started working for me and told her to stop posting pictures like that as it was bad for the image of the company. She said okay and for a while she did, but then after a month she started posting them again, even more than she did before. When quarantine began we were extremely busy as a lot of clients were calling worried their events were going to be cancelled, and during this time Olivia was posting a provocative picture once every few days. Out of pure stress I fired her and told her I didn't want her to work for me anymore, and she said she was going to sue me for "discrimination" and claimed I was being sexist which I definitely wasn't. The rest of my employees are threatening to leave in solidarity with Olivia.

Nobody has a crystal ball. While women hope their pregnancies will go smoothly, the sad truth is that women miscarry all the time. Typically women don't even tell some of their family members about being pregnant prior to the three-month mark for this very reason. While it may seem dishonest to withhold this information during an interview, telling an employer you are pregnant should be done on a need to know basis. You may, in fact, be the best person for the job. Why risk being turned down unnecessarily? Be aware that if you start a new job while pregnant you may not be entitled to paid leave or medical benefits covering your pregnancy. While you do not have to tell your prospective employer that you are pregnant during the interview process, it may be wise to tell them before you start your new job. You are likely going to be showing within a few months and it will seem dishonest if you don't say anything. It is likely they won't be totally thrilled to find out, but they will be more understanding if you come clean early in the process.

Legally I know they can't take away my job offer just because I am pregnant but anyone know the chances they'd want me to start super soon? Hoping others who have recently started their new jobs can give me some hope that this will line up accordingly so I don't have to stress jumping right into a new position too soon after giving birth.
